I thought those were interesting discussions.

All discussions here are interesting... until they go round

Well, it provides a premise for their being panspermia in Doctor Who
in more or less the same manner it was introduced in Star Trek. Need
to watch the Season 7 episodes again to see if they pinched it from
Doctor Who. It also dates Time Lord interference back 12 million
    years.

I like Leela with a bun! Her hair's elegantly up, with curled
tendrils. She must have paid attention to the hairstyles during
those Victorian adventures. She's also wearing a different leather
minidress. This one has straps and laces and looks like fetish
    gear. Sigh.

I thought the fetish gear was the dark leather outfit she started out
with and put on again at the end of the final episode.

The askew camera does a fine job of showing space-time out of
kilter. Today there'd be a blizzard of special effects, and this
episode shows that that's not needed.

The fewer special effects they used the better the episodes are.

The Doctor and Leela continue their playful struggle for
    leadership.

The Doctor just plain likes Earth. He talks to cows, naps under
trees, and just enjoys being here.

The plot thickens, with time distortions everywhere. This
situation calls for a Time Lord. Fortunately, one is available, and
very dramatic he looks staring solemnly from the fog. Great ending
    show.

Leela has become quite comfortable with firearms. She's definitely
a smart one. Many people from her background would be scared of
    boomsticks for quite some time.

The TARDIS fails to translate "whoppers" for Leela. Perhaps it
    struggles with slang.

"whoppers"!! Not proper BBC English, is it??

I thought she spoke English natively. Remember she's from a human
    colony.

"Man did not evolve on Earth. Of this I am sure." Good line, even
    if it's not quite right.

You think we're all descended from monkeys who only discovered
reading and writing 5,000 years ago?

WHAT?? Monkeys could Read and Write 5,000 years ago?? They've regressed
    somewhat since then!!

And we have Russell T Davies and Chris Chibnall to prove it. Total >degeneracy.

"Man did not evolve on Earth. Of this I am sure." Good line, even if
    it's not quite right.

Leela is good with trauma. Instead of pressing Mrs. Tyler to say what
happened, she reassures that Mrs. Tyler is safe now until Mrs. Tyler
    begins speaking freely.

The skeleton with a pentagram in its skull is interesting. It isn't a
true pentagram since it's not on a plane, but the Doctor figures a dim
memory of it informs our use of it as a mystical symbol. Could be, but
when did anyone ever see it? The skull just got found recently. Did we
just sense it somehow? This could have used either a little more
attention or an original, non-mystical symbol.

Anyone talking about mankind's "destiny" bears careful watching.

There's another great ending shot as the Doctor is trapped by the
    glowing skull.

Leela arrives to save the day. "I felt something was wrong, so I
followed the feeling." The Doctor admits she saved his life.

I love Thea's face as the creep is being creepy at her. It's a perfect
    combination of fear and WTF.

THEA: Max! Max, you are a fool!
    (beat)
MAX: I shall be a god.

Time fissures are one of this show's explanation for ghosts. I wonder if >>> anyone has a list.

There's a fun, though short, use of a classic twist. After repeatedly
insisting that the creature did not look like a man, Mrs. Tyler finally
    says, "Twere a woman."

Salt -- it's handy. Mrs. Tyler recommends it, and she knows what she's
    about.

The Doctor rather emphasizes that he was "too frightened to think
    clearly." Thoughts on that?

Whoa, Thea's not in good shape.

The Time Lords are "not supposed to do that sort of thing, you know."
    According to whom?

That skull *groomed* us. It groomed us into prey. This will not stand! A >>> supernova is the proper destination.

In closing, I wonder why K9 wasn't utilized much. Maybe this is one of
the episodes where they couldn't get him to work right.

You know, given the number of alien forces which have influenced human
evolution and history, it's no wonder the Doctor started spending so
much time here. It appears to be the Wild West of the galaxy.

This is a good watch. This is such a strong era for the show that just
about anything from it is good.
