DW is one to tackle the AI issue.

WOTAN from the War Machines in the 1st Docgtor Era
still remains a somewaht scary reality on AI.

BOSS in the Green Death yet another machine
that was suppose to be benevolent
    that left a malevolent mark.

Xoana in Face of Evil - The Doctor not
realising what he cause nearly goign up a cul-de-sac.

    K-9 ! Depsite Jon Pertwee's protest,
Tom Baker did give us the idea of very helpful AI.

    Kamelion. Very underused.

Seen twice in King's Demons and Planet of Fire,
This one did have a potential but was wasted.

I could, if I looked hard enough, find some redeeming features

Kamelion? I haven't a fucking clue what he was about... a poor
man's K9. (Hello JNT!) A complete waste of time.

Kamelion only appeared in two stories as the android prop kept
malfunctioning. (He had a scene in The Awakening but they
edited it out!) So in-universe, Kamelion stayed in his room in

Why in the world isn't an android character being played by a
person? That's how literally every other SF show does it, as far
    as I know.

Maybe they were hoping to repeat the popularity of K-9, but K-9
could be pulled on a string when the prop wasn't working (which I
    gather was usually).

Yes. K9 malfunctioned too, and didn't work well on uneven
