After an arduous workout with my new PT, I watched:
Nothing.
What did you watch?
I watched two more Only Murders in the Building episodes. I'm up to S5,
but I'm still enjoying it. The show is aware of its own goofiness, which helps.
I *tried* to watch this show. I *wanted* to like it, but I didn't make
it past the first episode or two.
I want to live in a building with secret passages and rooms. I'd never
use them, but I want them just to have them.
I would love to have secret passages and rooms!

This is a multiday catch up. Over the last few days I watched:
Christy (HBOMax) 2025 biopic starring Sydney Sweeney as "Christy Martin"
a female boxer who gets into a toxic relationship with her trainer (Ben Foster) who also becomes her husband and abuser. Merritt Wever plays Christy's worthless, good for nothing, waste of space, so-called mother,
who enables her abusive husband. This is a good movie, but really hard
to watch towards the end. Interestingly, they referenced Million Dollar
Baby in this movie.
Million Dollar Baby (DVR) 2004 movie directed by Clint Eastwood who also
stars as a boxing trainer who reluctantly trains Hillary Swank. Morgan Freeman co-stars as Eastwood's friend and since he's in the movie
anyway, narrator. I mean if you've got Freeman you might as well use
him. Swank's character is also stuck with a useless, waste of space
mother. Is this a theme with female boxers or something?
The Boys (Amazon Prime) - "Blood and Bone" - Season finale - Homelander
has declared himself God and taken over the U.S. It's up to The Boys to
save the day. This was a pretty good finale that did a good enough job
of wrapping things up. I am a little annoyed they set up characters in
the spin-off series as being important to take down Homelander, then
decided not to do anything with them, but whatever.
The Mandalorian (4K disc and Disney+)
"Chapter 1: The Mandalorian" - Season 1, episode 1. The Mandalorian is
hired to retrieve a 50 year who turns out to be baby Yoda, I mean Grogu.
"I have spoken."
Chapter 7: The Reckoning - Season 1, penultimate episode. The
Mandalorian must rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).
Wait, when did Grogu get captured? This is what happens when you skip episodes!
Chapter 8: Redemption - Season 1 finale. Team Mandalorian rescue Grogu
and defeat Moff Gideon. Great finale. And in a post credit scene, that
I didn't watch live because I didn't know it was there, Moff Gideon
turns out to still be alive and in possession of The Dark Saber.
Chapter 13: The Jedi - Season 2 episode that introduces Ahsoka Tano as
the two team up to defeat Morgan Elsbeth (Diana Lee Inosanto). If I
didn't know any better, I'd think this was a backdoor pilot for an
Ahsoka series...
Chapter 16: The Rescue - Season 2 finale The Mandalorian teams up with a
bunch of characters who clearly introduced in episodes that I skipped to
once again rescue Grogu from Moff Gideon. What, again?!? Can't they
think of anything else for a finale? Wait a minute, Luke Skywalker just showed up dripping awesomeness. Never mind this was an excellent finale.
The Mandalorian and Grogu (theatrical) Three years after season 3 aired
they come out with a movie. And you know what, it was a really good
movie. Nonstop action from beginning to end, if you like that sort of
thing. The plot has Ripley, I mean Sigourney Weaver, hiring The
Mandalorian and Grogu to track down a high ranking Imperial officer, but
to do so, they will have to make a deal with the Hutts. Wackiness
ensues. This movie felt like, and I mean this in the best way possible,
a child dumped all of their Star Wars toys on the floor and then filmed themselves playing with the toys. Everything was in this movie. I'm
pretty sure I even saw one of the aliens from "Captain EO" show up too.
Again, I mean this in the best way possible. The movie was just loads
of fun.
I was left with one question, were the Anzellans CGI or stop motion? I honestly couldn't tell. They *looked* like stop motion, but I don't know
why they would have been stop motion instead of CGI. Then again
director Jon Favreau might have just said, they are doing it stop motion because it's cooler than CGI. Who knows.
