Imagine if a white mayor bragged about violating civil rights like this.

He is discriminating, yes, but no employment law has ever required a
politician to hire his personal staff without regard to his own whims
and prejudices. There are a handful of white people in key positions,
one of whom I knw slightly, who are there to serve the taxpayers and to
prevent things from getting worse. There are people who were highly
competant, not white, who left his staff, having run out of patience.

Brandon can sometimes avoid finding people, right or wrong for the role, leaving key positions unfilled for a long time. After the law on public transportation changed, Brandon started saying he would finally find a permanent executive director for Chicago Transit Authority and was told
a resounding "nO" as approval would have to come from a new governing
body not yet appointed. The interim appointment had been there a year
and he had plenty of time to put in someone permanent under the old law.

    Brandon is lazy.

    And
does he *ever* talk about anything other than race? He will talk all day about >the race of the people he hires but never mention their qualifications or the >results they have produced. Why is that, do you suppose?

Actually, there were ward heelers who were far more decicated to
building patronage armies than Brandon. He tries to do as little as
necessary. Running his mouth is so much easier than making lives of
black people in Chicago better. The population among black families is
still in decline, with people moving elsewhere for better opportunities.

All one has to do is look around to see how well getting rid of whitey has >worked out for Chicago. Yeah, they were all corrupt but the city was both >functional and safer.

He could have an all-white personal staff. It would solve nothing. It's
not llke he does the right thing after taking well thought out advice
from competant black people on his staff.

Brandon is still who he is, caring far too little about doing the
day-to-day stuff and too lazy to do the patronage stuff effectively.
