• [OT] Meaning of "finna"?

One word that I keep seeing in American police bodycam videos is "finna"
and try as I might, I can NOT figure out just what the heck it means.

I assume it's a contraction or slurring of words but I can't figure out
WHICH words. The context is not helping much either.

My best guess is that it's a slurring of "fixing to" (as in "preparing
to do x"). Am I close?

Might help if we knew the surrounding phrasing.

Meaning: "expresses that an action is about to happen".

Meaning: "expresses that an action is about to happen".

Thank you! Do you have any idea how this term originated?

There are a lot of stupid white people out there that try to act black.
We had a name for them in high school that was very politically incorrect.
