In which case you sure have a lot to say about things you know little
    about.

Indeed, and that's what makes me human, rather than a machine.

You see, when humans don't know something, it's perfectly fine to say
    it.

HEH! You'll make a fine President of the USA.

Nope. He was not born in the U.S.A..

Yes, this is a minor technicality that disqualifies me.

Which is fine, since I have no desire for a job in the oval office.

Though, I should clarify, I don't mind the oval office as a room. It's
a perfectly fine room, albeit [1] oval.

And if I remember correctly, the White House is white because it was
painted such after a fire, to hide that it had burned down, or some-
    thing.

There are other White House trivia in the movie /White House Down/, fic-
tional and real. Another movie of the same type got much more famous,
and a sequel; yet I can't remember its name.

Oh, did I have a point with all of this? Nope, none at all. occam
claimed I wrote about a lot I knew nothing about, but I know a little
bit of trivia about the White House some American born people don't.

Most of it from watching movies. I think the fire was mentioned both in
/White House Down/ and -- let me look this title up by the actor -- /Na-
tional Treasure/ or the sequel, /National Treasure: Book of Secrets/.

I have included rec.arts.tv, so the film connoisseurs there can add more
with real /White House/ trivia. There must be plethora of them, if not
    a myriad.

Now, let me see. Something I know that many Americans don't, even ones
with philosophical degrees of doctorates? Well, I did mention in an-
other followup here in alt.usage.english, that Abu Musa Jabir ibn Hayyan brought us the word /gibberish/. I think that's because he was a stoned philosopher [2], and that the concept of /philosopher's stone/ is a
translation error. That's of course somewhat embarrassing for fictional characters like Harry Potter, and others, who have messed about with a philosopher's stone. So what do you think, occam? Do you concur that
the /philosopher's stone/ is a translation error, and that Abu Musa Ja-
bir ibn Hayyan was simply stoned [3]?

Best wishes, and happy reading the writings of Abu Musa Jabir ibn Hayy-
    an!

[1] Am I using /albeit/ too much? Is it time to switch it out for some
    other synonym?

[2] This is merely a pet idea of mine, not worthy of an essay in a uni- versity. So take it with a pillar of salt, like in the bible.

[3] And not stoned to death, unlike in the bible stories. Gruesome
    that.

Now I felt I needed to look it up again. The first one I was thinking
of was /Olympus Has Fallen/, whose title doesn't suggest the White House
but the domicile of the Greek gods. I guess we're lucky that one didn't
    fall.

The sequels are /London Has Fallen/, which is decent, and then /Angel
Has Fallen/, but by the third movie, I had kind of lost interest in the repetition.

Everyone who's seen Hollywood movies and their sequels knows how it
goes, and by the third movie the franchise is basically done with and
    not worth watching.

There are minor exceptions to the rule, such as the James Bond movies,
    and /Mission Impossible/ up until and including /Dead Reckoning/. I
personally believe the next M:I movie will be boring.

And a few years ago I completely lost any interest in the /Marvel Cine-
matic Universe/, because they started to make the storylines too con-
voluted, and the characters got increasingly less and less interesting.
Some people certainly disagree, but I've come across this sentiment
    elsewhere, so I believe it's /not just me/.

Best wishes, and happy enjoyment of future Hollywood movies!
