into a glammed-up, luxurious cultural destination.
I have been to Las Vegas and I have walked Fremont Street. The noise,
the lights, the gild, the constant offers of easy money are deeply
offensive to my aesthetic. I feel there it is cheap, gaudy, corrupt, and corrupting. I know many see Las Vegas as the greatest place on earth.
That is what Trump likes most, and he wants to turn the whole country
into a Fremont Street Experience.
I want lawns, live oaks, redwoods, flowing creeks, not water sadism
fountains.
