Kathryn Newton & Cooper Hoffman's Bonnie & Clyde-Like TV Show
Gets Great News From Hulu
-------------------------------------------------------------
A new crime drama starring Cooper Hoffman and Kathryn Newton has
found a streaming home on Hulu. The upcoming show's plot echoes
the crime-romance classic Bonnie and Clyde.

Hulu has picked up Durango, just seven months after ordering a
pilot. Jesse Peretz directed and executive produced the pilot.
Meanwhile, the series now comes from Y: The Last Man showrunner
Eliza Clark. The Bear creator Chris Storer has joined in as an
executive producer.

In addition to Hoffman and Newton, the show will also star
Merritt Wever, Mason Gooding and Abbey Lee.

Durango follows a ski bum and a runaway on the run from the law
In Durango, Hoffman plays Mikey, a local ski bum chasing his next
high. Meanwhile, Newton plays Bunny, a homeschooled runaway
working as a waitress.

The logline adds, "Together they're riding an avalanche of bad
decisions and falling in love while running from cops, criminals,
and Mikey's wife in pursuit of their own American dream." The
premise of two lovers on the run from the law echoes Bonnie and
Clyde, the 1967 biographical crime drama film inspired by
real-life criminals.

In Durango, Wever has been cast as Joni, whose official character
description reads, "a sharp and self-effacing local detective
who's deeply unimpressed by almost everything. After 20 years of
doing everything right in a resort town where the biggest case is
usually a stolen ski pass, Joni has been handed the most
interesting thing to happen to her entire career."

Additionally, Gooding will play Miles, "a young detective with a
sharp mind and a sharper mouth." A good-natured man, Miles is the
ultimate counterbalance to Joni.

Finally, Lee plays Irina, Mikey's Russian wife. She has her
husband wrapped around her finger and is pursuing US citizenship,
obsessed with American pop culture.

20th Television and Media Res is producing Durango, and showrunner
Clark wrote it and also executive produced it with Storer. Other
EPs include Michael Ellenberg, Christina Malach, Josh Senior, and
Tyson Bidner.
