Our telephone alert system has been going nuts for for the last half
hour warning about dangerous wind and thunder storm heading this way. A
couple minutes ago it, and with a vengeance. The power blipped off for a moment but came back on. It is raining so hard I lost my TV satellite
signal. It looks like it could keep on for a couple hours.

Lucky for us we had already finished supper. We had some great grilled
    pork chops.

I love a good thunderstorm. Not the damage though.

When I saw the header, I expected to see a cow dressed up the same a

    o

It hot right in time and has passed as per the weather prediction. I
think a big branch fell in the road. I keep hearing cars crunching over
it at high speed. Maybe they should slow down. We are fine.

    t
Thanks. We are fine. It was not as bad as we had been lead to believe.
The alerts came on our cell phones and the TV over and over and over. I
looked at the weather radar map and there was a fast moving mass of
yellow. It hit exactly as predicted but it was not as bad as we had
been led to expect. We lost power for a few seconds and the heavy rain
blocked the satellite signal. The only damage here seems to be a branch
that fell on the road and people keep hitting, but not hard enough that
    they stop and move it.

we had a very strong blast on the leading edge of the
storm front that came through a few days ago that knocked
out the power to a lot of people all around us, but gladly
we did ok other than some flickering. the UPS did what it
was supposed to do and kept my computer from having any
issues. normally this kind of thing would take down the
radio tower network for a while and cause it to reset and
for me to lose my internet connection but it kept going
    this time.

it was a lot more dramatic when this storm surge went
through than when the small tornado came through our
neighborhood. i'd not seen the trees that bent over
before - i thought there was a good chance a tornado
had just gone by us but there were no warnings or
    alerts on the weather radar.

also normally when a storm comes through i would have
shut the computer down because i don't want to risk it
being taken out by any lightning strikes (even if the
UPS is supposed to filter such things), but i neede to
    stay on-line if i could.

after the front had passed by there were about 70,000
people that had lost power for our power company, but
they had most of them connected again (about 1,200 left
to go) the last time i checked.

there was a pretty big chunk of people without power to
the east of us, but for some reason we were spared. i'll
take it. the slight ridge to the west of us often causes
a lot of storms to lose some of their effect when they

It was neither dumb nor blasphemous - but you sure are! https://www.nytimes.com/2026/04/13/us/politics/trump-jesus-picture-pope-leo.html
"Mr. Trump told reporters that he did not catch all that religious
imagery. He said he had thought the image he had posted to his Truth
Social account had depicted him not as Jesus — but as a physician.
“I thought it was me as a doctor,” Mr. Trump said of the social media post, which he deleted after an outcry. “Only the fake news could come up with that.”
He added, “I make people better.”
    And:
    AI Overview
According to the New Testament, the apostles spread the Holy Spirit, primarily by laying hands on new believers, allowing them to receive the Spirit, particularly in Acts. After receiving the Holy Spirit themselves at Pentecost, the apostles were empowered to preach and witness to Christ, spreading the Spirit's influence through their ministry.
Key Aspects of the Apostles Spreading the Holy Spirit:
Laying on of Hands: Apostles laid hands on converts to bring them into the church and ensure they received the Holy Spirit, notably in Samaria (Acts 8:14-20).
Empowerment for Mission: The Holy Spirit enabled the apostles to speak in different languages, perform miracles, and boldly spread the gospel to different regions.
Initial Reception: The apostles themselves received the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, which initiated their ability to spread the Spirit.
Evidence of Presence: The manifestation of the Holy Spirit served as
validation that new believers possessed the same Spirit as the original followers.
"Jesus has never been depicted as a blonde beardless man. They are
really stretching this meme. And since when are they concerned about
blasphemy against Jesus?? NEVER. They have depicted Jesus in the most abominable ways.
Remember the trannies at the last supper ? They did not complain then !"

All of a sudden it warmed up for a few days. Then last evening the

What's a few hundred miles between friends? Latitude is not the only

of influence. There's a pinch point at the Detroit River that makes
some systems go either north or south of my location.

I am half way between two of them. If I go around the corner and drive
north about two miles I hit a high point on the peninsula and can one
lake ahead and the other behind. Riding around on a motorcycle in the
spring the temperature change is very noticeable.

    Or go straight to Enoch:
    AI Overview
"The Book of Enoch and the concept of multiple
dimensions connect primarily through ancient Jewish cosmology,
specifically in the Second Book of Enoch (or The Secrets of Enoch).
This text describes a multidimensional reality as Enoch is taken on a
guided tour of the cosmos.Key connections to multidimensional reality include:The Ten Heavens: The text outlines a vertical cosmos consisting
of ten distinct heavens and a separate dimension of time. Each
successive heaven represents a higher, more complex spiritual plane
housing different entities, phenomena, and storehouses of creation
(e.g., the storehouses of snow, dew, and light). The Intersecting
Realms: In these ancient texts, Earth is often interpreted as an
intersection point where the higher dimensions (Heaven) and lower
dimensions (The Abyss) collide or intersect, making it a focal point
for spiritual activity and cosmic crossroads.Cosmic Portals: Enoch’s
journey through the cosmos alongside angelic guides (like Uriel)
details paths through the universe, portals, and astronomical
dimensions that were previously hidden from humanity.Interdimensional
Entities: The Watchers (angels who descended to Earth to intermarry
with humans) and the Nephilim are often discussed in modern esoteric
and UFO communities as interdimensional beings operating outside
    conventional physical laws."

    returning to source: https://www.breitbart.com/entertainment/2026/05/21/stephen-colbert-baffles-christians-with-mystic-view-of-the-afterlife-a-dispersion-of-the-self-into-some-other-great-being/
"During an “orgy of self-worship” where a massive string of celebrity guests asked Colbert to answer questions about himself, comedian Jim
Gaffigan entered the host’s chair and posed a query that Colbert
himself has asked many times: “What do you think happens when we die?”
To View Social MediaEnable Social Cookies
    View on twitter.com
The comedic writer said this his view isn’t very concrete — “it’s more like a feeling, and the feeling is that when we die, I think there is some continuance of some kind. But it’s like a dispersion of the self into some other greater being. And I don’t have any other feelings beyond that.”
Gaffigan, also a professed Catholic, quipped back, “What you’re saying is: we become Febreze.”
“Yes. Right,” Colbert (who famously boasted “I teach Sunday school, motherf**ker!”) replied with a smile. “That’s exactly right.”
The interaction quickly sparked a flurry of conversation on social media, with this author remarking that Colbert’s view of the afterlife “sounds more like the Gnostic concept of the Pleroma than the Catholic doctrine of Heaven.”
The “pleroma” is a Greek word that ancient Gnostics, like the followers of Valentinus, used to communicate the mythology that all physical matter is splintered off from a perfect divine being, and it will eventually return to that Godhead, or “Fullness,” and the corruption known as the physical world will cease to exist.
According to Valentinian teaching, human beings (personified as Sophia) were originally part of the divine collectivity or Fullness (pleroma). The world originates when human beings fall into a state of suffering and deficiency. Physical existence is explicitly identified with this fallen state. Similarly, the dissolution of the world and restoration to Fullness takes place through gnosis.

The Valentinian initiation ritual included prayers for the ascent to the eighth heaven in which the person declared their origin from the “Pre-existent One” and renounced the authority of the Craftsman (Demiurge) and the lower powers. (Irenaeus Against Heresies 1:21:5 cf. First Apocalypse of James 32:29-36:1, Irenaeus Against Heresies 1:13:6).
While some commentators agreed Colbert’s take sounds quite Gnostic, others said this belief sounds like Buddhism or Hinduism. One user remarked, “Stephen Colbert chooses the Childhood’s End Overmind ending to nobody’s surprise,” referring to the Arthur C. Clarke novel where aliens who resemble Medieval depictions of demons trigger the extinction of humankind through transhumanist experimentation.
One reply suggested Colbert may be referring to the “Omega Point”
theory espoused by Pierre Tielhard de Chardin, who finds an acolyte in
fellow Jesuit (and unwavering subversive) James Martin. He and Colbert
have a long relationship, where the latter declared the former the
“official chaplain” of his Comedy Central show The Colbert Report. In
the past year, each man interviewed the other on the broadcasts and
    podcasts that they host.
Several Catholic X users called the late-night host’s view “heretical” and a “disgrace to the Catholic faith.” Some labeled him a “Cafeteria Catholic” (a person who picks and chooses which doctrines of the church they accept) or “Catholic in Name Only.” Several people quoted the Apostles’ Creed, which Colbert would have to recite frequently at Mass, which states Christians believe in “the resurrection of the body” and “life everlasting.” Author Daniel Foster remarked: “Colbert was a serious Catholic once upon a time but let himself get midlifed and cohorted into the bland and vaguely eastern spiritualism of the celebrity class.”
A Baptist pastor replying to the clip articulated the orthodox Christian view of life after death — that believers will go into the presence of God but retain their identity and eventually undergo a bodily resurrection:
That is far closer to vague spiritual monism than historic Christianity. Scripture does not teach that we are “dispersed” into some greater impersonal being after death. Human beings remain personal, conscious, morally accountable, and either in the presence of Christ or under judgment.
Jesus did not speak of the afterlife as the loss of self, but as resurrection, eternal life, fellowship with God, and the redeemed dwelling with Him forever. Christianity is not absorption into the divine. It is reconciliation to the living God through Jesus Christ.
Spectator editor Damian Thompson got in a good joke about the end of
The Late Show due to its reported unprofitable viewership. “Colbert’s version of the afterlife: vanishing into the ether like a cancelled
    talk show,” he wrote."

Our telephone alert system has been going nuts for the last
half hour warning about dangerous wind and thunder storm
heading this way. A couple minutes ago it, and with a

Stay safe! But I wish you'd share some of that rain with
us. We're expecting rain tonight and the next few days as
well; we're in desperate need of it.
It's unusual that you've gotten missed by rain when we've
gotten this much of it. My f-i-l's rain gauge read over 3"
    yesterday.

Normally, by this time of the year we're way ahead of what is
    our normal rainfall.

Normally, you should be exactly at your normal rainfall for
    this time of year.

Only if you're dense enough to think that the rain is doled out
month by month to an exacting system of precise allocations.

"Normal" however refers to a compilation of divergent annual
weather patterns to average out over time what is "normal".

Hammy dear, it's not "The Truman Show"...right?

Cindy clearly has a much more sophisticated knowledge of the
    English language than you!!

Cindy is scientifically clueless, perhaps like you?

Do you also think all the children are above average?

    Awards for all!

Boy, have I seen some ugly kids on this vacation. I guess they’re
getting ready to look like their parents.
