Yes, it has. Millions could afford health insurance who couldn't
otherwise. You don't give a damn about poor people. In the extremely

Elderly or disabled. My husband started receiving Medicare when
he was 59, if memory serves.

I'm guessing he paid into Social Security long before he claimed benefits.
Walk into any SS office today and you'll see a waiting room full of people (juveniles) who've never paid a dime into it.

Oh yea, the Affordable Care Act. That has made 100's of thousands happy.

It has provided medical insurance to many people who could not afford
it. Everybody's insurance had to improve to cover stuff like
    pre-existing conditions and preventive care.
Health insurance prices were skyrocketing before the ACA was
enacted. That's why people couldn't afford to buy private
    health insurance.

I don't know everyone who has ACA, but the majority don't seem to be too
happy with it. Then again, they'd probably not be happy with any insurance
if they have to shell out any money of their own. I was fortunate that my employer paid the majority of my premium. Granted, that would probably be
a great hardship for very small companies to pay the larger part of a premium.

Muslims tend to be hysterical religious fanatics, even if they live in

Depends on the company. I worked for a 35-person company that had
excellent health benefits. They knew they had to do that in order
to attract any engineers to work there. And most of the employees
were engineers. If memory serves, when I hired on they paid
100% of the premium; by the time I retired I was paying $300
and they were paying at least $700. Everybody had the exact
same benefits, from the shipping clerk to the CEO.

Voting for Republicans. You don't see it's a naked attempt to
buy votes? Not as blatant as the $5000, but still obvious.

A few weeks ago, Ohio's Republican governor announced that Ohio will be
taking a state fuel tax hiatus through the end of the year, which
immediately reduced the price of fuel by 38 cents/gal, down to
$3.42/gal. in my area. I also found this timing convenient, right
    before mid-terms.

The best part is that fuel is now up to $4.19/gal, it goes up 38 cents
again in January, and we get even crappier roads from cut funding in the
mean time. Once fuel goes over $5/gal, I'm going to put a $5,000 firm
price tag on the windshield of whichever Geo Metro I'm driving.

Or be patient. Diaper Don will be gone in a bit more than 2 years.
