I haven't done this for a while. How about some pretentious meal choices?

    Throwback Thursday Only
    Chef Archie's Chicken Parmesan $17

    Starter
    Beef Carpaccio $12
Capers, Aioli, Balsamic Reduction, Parsley, Parmesan

    Entree
Florida Grouper & Halibut Smoked Salmon Sausage $32
Crab & Jowl Bacon Carolina Gold Perlou,
    Wilted Spinach, Baby Cucumber

    Sunday Supper
Chef Scott’s Baby Back Ribs, Loaded Potatoes $19
    -----

So, we have a Chef Archie (where is Jughead?) and a Chef Scott. Maybe
it's the battle of the lunch and supper chefs.

    Guess what? I'm moving. I don't care. :)

Yeah, I'm getting the hell out of here. I'll be moving to an apartment

Good for you! Owning a house can be expensive and takes time to care

OK, that makes sense. 🙂 The inside of our house is fine. The yard looks

That makes sense as you get older it gets more difficult. If I was
still in CT I'd either be paying a lot or letting things go. Glad we
    moved when we did.

Here, much smaller lot and I pay $105 a month for the lawn care. I paid
for a couple of little things like a sprinkler repair that 10 years ago
    I'd do no problem.

Funny thing. Income restrictions. Places around here won't rent to you unless you have a guaranteed income of 3X the monthly rent.

Right now all I get is Social Security. So I said uh, how about if I
offer to pay you 12 months rent up front?

Now I've got them calling *me*. When would you like to take a tour? We
have a lovely 2 bedroom apartment. Should be someting available in
January. Please come by and talk with us. LOL

Why January? Because I have a house full of furniture I need to sell in
the meantime. Not to mention two extra sets of dishes. Franciscan Ware (Desert Rose pattern). And the platinum rimmed "good china" my mother
only used on holidays. I don't need three sets of dinnerware. Lots of

If you put some effort into it, you could get some good money for the figurines. The china is worth money too. Teacups? Not so much because
almost no one drinks tea or coffee out of those tiny little cups anymore.

Why January?  Because I have a house full of furniture I need to sell

Franciscan Ware (Desert Rose pattern).  And the platinum rimmed "good

Good luck selling that stuff. It used to be pretty easy to get rid of
that sort of stuff. These days it can be hard to even give it away.

Replacements.com might be helpful.  I sold them the sterling silver flatware a decade ago.  The tea cups, probably not.  As for the
furniture, not allowed to have a garage sale, etc. so that will be problematic.

She'd like to get some money out of it. It's a balance between the
economics, and the effort. She's fairly lazy about cooking, so maybe
that extends to selling those items.

I was going to suggest Replacements.com; they might be interested in all
of the china, even the cups. Some people are looking for specific pieces
    in a set.

No garage sale? If you don't mind people trapsing through your house,
you could have an 'indoor' garage sale. Or possibly send some of it
    off to a consignment shop.

Replacements.com has plenty of the Desert Rose pattern Franciscan Ware.
I have a full 10 piece place setting. It was our "every day" dinner

Same thing with the "good" china.

Consignment shops for the furniture is a good idea, thanks. I'll be

Perhaps there is less demand in your area, but at our antique mall,
Royal Doulton figures sell for $10-20 each, depending. About the same
each for fancy cup and saucer sets. Perhaps you can call up a couple of antique stores in your area? They'll give you a lot less than that, but
it's something, and a quick way to get rid of the clutter.

A lot of people aren't interested in selling stuff. Some people are afraid of putting forth a price and awaiting a response. It is rejection they fear.

A lot of people find it to be a pain in the butt to go to all the work
to clean stuff up and put it on display and then not sell it or not get
enough money to make it worth while. They find it easier to haul it to

Thank you, Janet.  Yeah, packing is going to be a PITA.  Do you know >>>> anyone who wants a bunch of Royal Doulton porcelain figurines?  I

Perhaps there is less demand in your area, but at our antique mall,
Royal Doulton figures sell for $10-20 each, depending.  About the same
each for fancy cup and saucer sets.  Perhaps you can call up a couple of >>> antique stores in your area?  They'll give you a lot less than that, but >>> it's something, and a quick way to get rid of the clutter.

If you don't want to deal with Craigslist, I second Joan's suggestion of >>> a consignment shop for furniture.  I used to take furniture that I

A lot of people aren't interested in selling stuff. Some people are
    afraid of
putting forth a price and awaiting a response. It is rejection they fear.

This is Michael's field. It's the thing he knows more about that anyone here. I'm sure that you know way more about hearing aids. I know more
about refinishing floors. Sheldon knew about tool-and-die stuff.

    Uncle knows everything about everything.

A lot of people find it to be a pain in the butt to go to all the work
to clean stuff up and put it on display and then not sell it or not get enough money to make it worth while. They find it easier to haul it to
the dump or to take it to Goodwill stores.

Indeed, it's easy as pie to throw stuff away. Here's something I found in a dumpster. I saw the guy put it in there and grabbed it.
