I just heard Trump speaking about what's going on in France.

Along with arson & vandalism, apparently the kids are also
participating in a new type of hooliganism called 'lootering'.

Is this supposed to be 'looting', 'loitering', or 'neutering'?

Sorta like when Kennedy would say 'Cuber' for Cuba?   😄

Ah, the intrusive R. "The word is not spelled with an "r" (like idea,
draw, or Africa), yet speakers insert an "r" sound anyway if the next
word begins with a vowel (saying "idear of it" or "drawring") to avoid a
    break between two vowel sounds."

It is a common feature of non-rhotic accents. It happens in England,
    too.

My step-father was from Maryland. He talked like that. Many years ago, I
asked the governor of Missouri (he was lieutenant governor at the time) whether it was pronounced MIZ-ZOU-RAH, or MIZ-ZOU-REE. He said it could
be either way when used as a noun, but when used as an adjective, it
followed the THEE/THUH pronunciation of "the." It's MIZ-ZOU-RAH Tigers,
but MIZ-ZOU-REE Ozarks, MIZ-ZOU-RAH River, but MIZ-ZOU-REE Elections.

    AI Overview

The word "the" is pronounced as "thuh" (with a schwa sound) before a
consonant sound, and as "thee" (with a long "e" sound) before a vowel
    sound, making speech flow smoothly.
