larger irrespective of the remainder of the UI. So web pages look the same. But menus
are larger etc. It's one of the reasons I stay with Linux. I can liberally adjust things
I couldn't in Windows.

I got my uncle (born 1956) a 17" laptop. Haven't
got a call (yet) he wants lager font. He did
call me to tell one of the usb-c ports wasn't
working (for charging), but when I got there
and tested them they both worked. <sigh>

I think they are allergic to wires. If all they do
is surf and read eMail and demand 1/2" letters, they'd
be much better off with a tablet. Then they can
temporarily expand what they want with two fingers.

"lager" should have been "larger" as in "large"!! Or you can use
"bigger".
Are you drinking too much Lager beer lately?
Or are you advertising it? :)
If you drink and drive (and text), it will become a road safety problem,
and might get yourself killed.

I added my uncle's Gmail to Thunderbird. He had over *14.000* mails in
it. Then followed the gruesome task of unsubscribing him to various newsletters.

I don't know about lager, but there IS a "marijuana font".

iirc 'select all' on the gmail website isn't the easiest thing to find. I have a throwaway email on proton.me that I seldom visit. At some time I
must have registered with the Washington Post to read an article. I remembered to save one email to unsubscribe before doing the bulk delete.

Which does nothing in the mail.google.com web interface. The current one
has a box with a pulldown to select all, but I don't think the older
versions did. proton.me has a similar box.
I was not talking about Thunderbird.

I can't stand web mail. But that is only me apparently.
I use Thunderbird/Betterbird for a reason.
I seldom use the web interface. What arrives in gmail is automatically
pulled down and appears in my regular email account. However it isn't
deleted from gmail so if I think of it I go and take the trash out.

My reading says that Gmail will automatically delete items older than 90 days.
At least it does on mine. I'd love to have it keep old stuff longer.

I showed him Ctrl+A and then Delete. I unsubscribed him to a lot of newsletters, so I can only hope there won't be so many mails when I
check his laptop next time.

I just checked my Gmail. There's a message in there dated 15/03/2023. I
don't know what you did to set it up to delete messages over 90 days
old.
