I was considering posting two separate reviews but since the first two >episodes of TWBLS were shown back-to-back and the writing and directing
is the most horrendous, amateurish, childish, and insulting I have ever >seen, and consists of nothing more than a thin veil for a woke lecture >filled with unsubstantiated lies and propaganda I'm going to review them >both together.
I'm will review this story written by Pete McTighe and created by Russel
T Davies in comparison to Interstellar by Christopher Nolan since both >contain an environmentalist message.
While one is well written and the environmentalist message, which easily >falls apart on careful consideration, is simply there to set up a
situation where the human race needs to colonise extra terrestrial
planets in order to survive, ushered on by a seemingly alien but in >actuality Earth originating intelligence, serves the science fiction
which always takes precedence and does not seek to be woke or lecture
the audience, the other is pure degenerate woke lecturing spreading >downright lies, mistruths, and misinformation, using science fiction as
as a means to capture an audience and indoctrinate them with a one sided >false narrative which overwhelms everting, resulting in the most
appalling, infantile, and totally horrendous and insulting writing I
have ever witnessed by a clueless and talentless soap opera hack and >political play-write who is incapable of writing any better then an >undedicated infant.
It all tarts off with a humanoid fish lizard being caught up in a
fishing trawler’s nets in the Mediterranean and as soon as the fishermen >see it they shoot it dead. Why are these fishermen carrying guns on a >fishing boat in the middle of the Med? Why have they got them already >pointing at the fish lizard the moment the nets are pulled up? It's as
if they were deliberately hunting the fish lizard to begin with. Why
isn't this explained? Why have the fishermen caught the fish lizard? Is
it by accident or design? The writing is absolute shit from the very >beginning as is the directing.
The shooting of this fish lizard and then another causes other fish
lizards to retaliate by killing two humans in revenge. Why? We still
don't know if the fish lizards were first hunted down and then killed or >not. The writing is total garbage. More about garbage later.
Then the fish lizards all decide to reveal themselves to mankind because >apparently as we learn later two of their hatchlings have been killed by >pollution in the oceans. Like this is only supposed to have only ever >happened now and not before? Humanity went by for hundreds of thousands
of years, decades, centuries polluting the seas and oceans and no fish >lizards ever died as a result of it until now? The writing is absolute >excrement, just like the plot. Even the fish lizards complain about the >excrement in the seas. What about their excrement? Don't fish shit in
the water as they swim? Total hypocrisy.
Oh, did I mention that these fish lizards can also fluidly change gender
as they choose? I think I predicted they would months ago.
So the fish lizards want to communicate with mankind and we are
subjected to 20 minutes of insulting padding showing attempts at
translating their language or squeals, and newscasts documenting their >appearances. This is totally unnecessary exposition which tells us
nothing about the non-existent plot or motivations of the fish lizards
or humans.
An imbecilic, socially inept effeminate moron played played by the gay
actor Russell Tovey is chosen by accident to be the ambassador for mankind.
The degenerate hypocrite Russell T Davies told everyone that only gay
actors were suitable for playing the roles of gay characters, so why has
an unconvincing gay actor playing what would appear to be a heterosexual >character been inflicted on the audience?
After he is activated by UNIT, Tovey is shown being woken up by what
appears to be an obese mixed race male character who at first I believed
to be his male lover. Then he drives off with this character who is
about the same height as him to this black woman's house, and I start to >question if this character is actually male when she starts embracing
the other black woman. What the fuck is going on? Are they lesbians? >Bisexual? A manage a trois?
Oh, so she's supposed to be his daughter? Why the fuck doesn't she even
look like him? I thought he was gay. He acts and behaves like he's gay. >Haven't the producers and director got a clue how to cast people in >appropriate roles so they look convincing?
Now we come to Interstellar. Interstellar was about the main
protagonist's relationship with his daughter. Everything was written
around that relationship and from the characterisation of the daughter
and the main protagonist’s son and their grandfather and their >relationships with each other you could predict everything that followed
in the plot, every motivation for why they did what they did and why
they did it and even what they ending would be, in the first 5 minutes. >Those relationships were embedded into the plot in order to serve and
evolve the plot and were all necessary. In contrast there is no plot >development, characterisation or character development at all concerning >Tovey's daughter or apparently ex-wife. They serve no purpose whatsoever
in evolving the story, because there is no story. They're degenerate
soap opera filler created to waste time by a clueless infantile writer
who doesn't understand the basics of writing or story telling. Why have
them there at all, unless it's the woke political messaging to show a
mixed race relationship? They serve no purpose at all.
The degenerate clueless writer assumes everyone already knows who the
Sea Devils are and who the Doctor is, which is another example of his >ineptitude and bad writing. The Doctor is totally irrelevant to this
story so why waste time talking about him instead of developing the >characters in this specific story in a meaningful manner as in
Interstellar?
Why would the audience know the whole backstory of the Sea Devils? Show
not tell. The writer and director don't have a clue. Nothing is shown
from the Sea Devils stand point. Why are they accepted by the humans as >being superior when they have not demonstrated that on screen? Why
aren't the being nuked as soon as they appear?
In one scene we are shown two humans sucked into the sand by the Sea
Devils. In the next scene a military General with an American accent
tries looking for them and calling them on the radio wondering where
they are for minutes on end. The audience already knows they've been
killed by the fish lizards, so there is no mystery or tension in this
scene at all. No one gives a clue about the General or the 'red shirts' >because none of them were given any character or character development.
It's a complete waste of time. The director and writer don't have a clue.
To these woke imbeciles the writing doesn't matter. It comes a poor
second place to the political messaging.
The imbecilic morons don't even understand basic biology. Homo is a
genus for humans so why have they named the fish lizards Homer Aqua?
They're bloody reptiles so can't be part of the genus Homo, but all the >imbeciles can do is have Tovey tell his hideously obese daughter that
that Homo doesn't mean Gay. How about telling her what a Genus is and
why it is being applied to the fish lizards incorrectly, and educate people?
Why has Tovey even been mistaken for the real guy UNIT sent for as >Ambassador? All government employees should be wearing identity tags
which denote their position and rank, so they should have known from the >start Tovey was not their man. Why didn't they check his ID for fuck's
sake? They ejected the guy that Tovey took the place of when he tried to >enter the government building the fish lizards had chosen for their >conference, so why didn't security ask for Tovey's ID ever? Fucking
morons for writers!
And then all the woke lecturing begins from the mouthpiece of the fish >lizards. Lie, after lie, after lie, after lie, after lie putting down
humans and humanity and accusing them of polluting the rives, the seas,
and the oceans, without any opposing argument whatsoever.
You learn about the Water Cycle in basic O-Level Geography. You learn
about various vicious circles, and about how humans need to battle and
break them to survive. All of this is thrown out of the window by the >degenerate imbecilic woke writers and their hatred of their own species. >It's an insult to every viewer's intelligence. Don't the fish lizards >understand that sewerage is processed before it is dumped into the sea
and the Water Cycle? They all come across as a bunch or self centred,
self serving, ignorant, hate filled bigots, just like the writers >themselves. Logic and reason and the survival of humanity is ridiculed
by the creation of a bunch of straw horses including a parody of Nigel >Farage.
The fish lizards present the humans with one impossible ultimatum after >another and start making impossible demands (like Vladimir Putin
refusing to make peace with Ukraine unless Ukraine gives up all of it's >territory to Russia) and then they shower all the land on Earth with
plastic bottles and other garbage plucked out of all the oceans, seas, >rives, and waterways. This is totally laughable childish writing.
Do the infantile writers, McTighe and Davie think that this will
engender support for their cause? A complete pack of lies,
disinformation and unsubstantiated extremist propaganda that can easily
be fact checked and proven to be false. Plastic bottles are either
recycled and put into landfill, not thrown into the sea. The
overwhelming 99.9999% of anything that does end up in the sea is >bio-degradable and totally harmless.
And then the fish lizards decide to drop the wreck of the Titanic into
the middle of New York.
What a complete pile of excrement!
Earlier Tovey is asked to drink dirty water from the Thames to show it's >undrinkable because it's full of deadly microbes. Those microbes are not
the fault of humans. Legionella evolved naturally in stagnant >air-conditioning units, not from pollution. Cholera is caused by a
bacteria that naturally spreads in stagnant water. One sided crap after
one sided crap that no one is allowed to refute.
Finally at the end of the second episode Tovey is forced to agree to
meet the fish lizards at the bottom of a 5 mile deep ocean trench in the >middle of the Atlantic, which is basically impossible.
Absolute complete and utter garbage is all this story is about and all
this story is.
0/10 for both episodes.

Possibly because not everybody thinks the same as you.

By mentioning the Doctor I keep coming back to the issue that
if all those Sea Devils rose up in cities all around the world,
as depicted... would the Doctor really just ignore them and not
get involved? Ncuti's Doctor might have gone [somewhere], but
there's still a Doctor relaxing in London. So for me, the Doctor
should have just been ignored completely, as by mentioning him
it's just drawing attention to the fact he's not bothered to get
involved in such a major conflict alongside UNIT.
Why would the audience know the whole backstory of the Sea

There was ALWAYS going to be a political message.

We all knew the message of this series was going to be
environmental damage caused by us, the people of Earth. (Which
is why I thought this series would have been broadcast around
Earth Day in 2026.) It was the raison d'être behind the whole
series.

Not NYC!!! I've family there.

In fairness, Pertwee's Doctor went down under the sea to meet
the Sea Devils in their caves in 1972.

IF - and I mean IF - I was rating the first two episodes I would
have gone for something like 6/10 for Ep 1 and 5/10 for Ep 2,
but I would rather judge the whole series once I have seen all
five episodes.

Tovey’s character wasn’t woken up by any character but by

As RTD's writing is about as subtle as a sledge-hammer, I'd
say the kid will be back. He'll probably be put in danger
somehow and need rescuing by his Dad, with help from the fish
lizard with no breasts... or something.
Unlike the girl in Interstellar this stupid kid has absolutely
nothing to do with the story development or the plot.
You've only seen two episodes out of five, remember.
I figured out the daughter's significance and pivotal role in the plot
and the major plot twist in the first 5 minutes of Interstellar and
still kept watching for almost 3 hours to find out if I was right.
It's RTD... if there's a kid there, he's there for a reason.
RTD and the fool McTighe don't have the remotest clue how to write.
They're talentless soap opera hacks not science fiction writers.
Stay tuned.
I don't feel like watching any of the remaining episodes. You can easily >figure out the pattern. Each week it was be yet another racist and

And if Barclay’s family weren’t introduced before they become
important in episode four or five, Aggy would be complaining that
we should’ve seen them before!
He’s never happy.
They've not even been introduced properly to begin with. They're their
as irrelevant, mind numbing, soap opera padding to fill 5 epsiodes
because Davies and McTighe don't have the remotest clue how to write
science fiction or how to the create and develop intelligent characters
and plot based characterisation.

The fact Barclay's family were a large part of the focus in
the second episode, and not just put away somewhere for the
duration of the story, clearly means they will play a part in
the proceedings... beyond Barclay and his kid having a cuddle
No it doesn't. It clearly show that Davies and McTighe are totally shit >writers who don't understand character, characterisation, or character >dependent plot development. Interstellar shows you how to do it properly.

It wasn't THAT bad!!!
My primary thoughts on it [TWBTLATS] are that in places it's
better written than the last season of Doctor Who... but with
only two episodes seen, my opinion could change... in either
direction.

I read it, but there's plenty of films and TV shows that deal
with Father/Daughter relationships... Interstellar wouldn't be
top of my list for that!
I'm still expecting some sort of emotional entanglement between
Barclay and Ms Fish lizard too... and there was definitely none
of THAT in Interstellar!!!

Wrong. Interstellar makes the relationship drive the plot. It's not
there as filler because the writers can't write which is what happens in >most of the others. Another good example of Back to the Future where all
the character relationships actually matter. Degenerate low level soap
opera hacks and political playwrights like Davies and McTighe don't have
the remotest clue how to do this.
I'm still expecting some sort of emotional entanglement between
Barclay and Ms Fish lizard too... and there was definitely none

Why would Interstellar want to do bestiality? If there were to be any
the talentless, audience-hating, piece of s*t McTighe isn't capable of >writing romance anyway. The degenerate moron's idea of romance is to
pair off Kate Stewart with a homosexual man that she's never gone
through any kind of romantic journey with.

The 21st isn't Christmas. And you'll ruin your own Christmas
by getting worked up over a nothing TV series that's only meant

The first episode was better than the second, writing wise...
but I didn't think either episode was at the crap level. They
were par for the course for a typical BBC drama in 2025 with a
jumbled-up message and the right boxes being ticked.
