IMO, "it's a show about time travel, tee hee" is a cheap and lazy way to dismiss objections. I have to be able to immerse myself in the show.
Premise and execution aren't the same thing. Being willing to accept an unrealistic premise doesn't mean I won't be knocked out of the story by unexpected unrealism in other areas.
Imagine if the Doctor visited 18th-century America and found that it was mostly Asian people. We'd wonder what had happened to the timeline,
wouldn't we? If the explanation turns out to be that we're silly, stupid people for expecting a show about time travel to make sense... well,
that's not very satisfying.

Easy - the week before the Doctor takes Robert Heinlein back in time,
and he goes around stomping on butterflies.

We'd have to remember that not only does The Doctor travel in Time but
he also travels in SPACE .... and, I suspect, in Dimensions as well
(can't say I've EVER heard in Flying Trains at ANY time in THIS
Dimension) .... so it is quite possibly that, out there in other Times/Spaces/Dimensions, there could well be an American'ish race of
peoples that look, well, Asian!!

Now, see, that could actually work. The people there think it's normal,
but the Doctor knows something's wrong and eventually figures out blah
blah the Master blah blah something about the Land Bridge, and then he
fixes everything.
Instead, there is no explanation, and if we ask what's up, we're told
we're bigots.

That's something like what I thought would happen with the Ravi
Newton thing... The 15th Doctor eventually discovered they were
in a different Universe, where gravity was mavity, and then
found a way to 'fix' it and return things to 'normal'.

No explanation because RTD thought it was just a jolly wheeze,
so it didn't need to be explained to us plebs.

A lot of hopes are riding on that mavity business. They say the show
will continue, so I guess we'll see.

The Flying Scotsman! ;-)

Have you ever been to the USA?
There's quite a lot of Americans there that look Asian!!!
There's quite a lot of Americans that look European too.
If only the Cherokee, Apache and Sioux had ICE agents with guns to
get rid of the immigrants...

The show will continue, they say, and possibly without RTD, they
say... but I'd rather the 2026 Christmas 'special' was a one-off >self-contained story... not a "let RTD spend an hour tidying up
all his loose ends from the previous two season's of Doctor Who"
episode. Yes, the Billie Piper 'thing' has to be resolved, and
maybe that itself will re-set the universe... but with casual
viewers turning off Doctor Who in their droves, I'm not sure a
Christmas episode is the time to spoil people's holiday viewing
with an episode full of left over baggage.
It's rumoured the special will be RTD's swan-song so I'd rather
he just wrote a good Christmas themed story and went out with a
bang... not a gimmick.
So my message to RTD is, forget all the mumbo jumbo and GO FOR
IT! Make Doctor Who great again. I actually think he does have
it in him, but he often lets his big ideas get the better of him
and thinks Doctor Who's primary purpose is as a vehicle for
modern messaging, not a canvas to tell a story about a Time Lord
who has exciting adventures in time and space. We have enough of
the real world in soaps and the news, and it's depressing... we
need some sci-fi ish escapism!

No! Nowhere on either American Continent.
