    I'm still mostly playing Timberborn,

What do you like and dislike about Timberborn?

Timberborn rules. It's a sim, which is my favorite genre of game. I run
a colony of beavers who are building a new civilization after the
    hoomans have disappeared.

There's a lot of basic citybuilding, setting up the food chain and
housing and recreation and all that. The river is very important. This
future world has no rain, and much of the land is lifeless, and it's up
to you as the new apex species to use the water wisely. You start with
the natural beaver ability to build dams, and eventually you'll work up
    to dynamite and floodgates.

I have no significant dislike points. One thing to note is that it's a
pure sim, though. There's no actual plot, just maps on which to build
cities. There are also no enemies and no combat. Your only enemies are
drought and the flood of badwater which sweeps through periodically.

So it's a bit like the original sims type of games. I mean true old
school games like SimAnt. Haven't played any games truly like that in
ages. Closest I've come is something like No Man's Sky which has
slowly been given a plot but it's not something you have to delve
into. Instead you can just concentrate on building your bases,
exploring (often in solar systems no one has ever visited) and
building up your trading fleet to get more wealth, but also rarer
items. Though NMS does include enemies that you can fight or run away
    from.
