Why is the TV series being named after only the first book? Are they
stupidly planning to make each season with a different book's name?

    Harry Potter Teaser Trailer Released
for Highly Anticipated HBO Max Show
    ------------------------------------
The first teaser trailer for the Harry Potter show, titled
Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, has been
    released.

HBO and Warner Bros. Television are making a new Harry
Potter series that adapts the book series written by
    J. K. Rowling. Coming from showrunner Francesca Gardiner
and director Mark Mylod, the series is expected to
premiere on the HBO Max streaming service this Christmas.

What do we see in the Harry Potter teaser trailer?
The Harry Potter teaser trailer welcomes viewers and fans
into Hogwarts. The titular Harry Potter character is being
played by Dominic McLaughlin, while Alastair Stout stars
as Ron Weasley and Arabella Stanton portrays Hermione
    Granger.

The cast further includes John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore,
Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as
Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Luke Thallon as
Quirinus Quirrell, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, Bertie
Carvel as Cornelius Fudge, Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy,
Johnny Flynn as Lucius Malfoy, and more.

The logline reads, "There is nothing special about Harry
Potter - at least that's what his Aunt Petunia always says.
On his 11th birthday, a letter of admittance to Hogwarts
School of Witchcraft and Wizardry opens up a hidden world
for Harry: one of fun, friendship and magic. But with this
new adventure comes great risk as Harry is forced to face
a dangerous enemy from his past."

HBO Max boss Casey Bloys recently told Variety when asked
why he felt like now was the right time to bring Harry
Potter back, "Well, there's no right number, but I do think
it's hard sometimes for people to really - you know,
they'll say, 'The movies just came out!' It started about
20 years ago! And what's nice is the books have obviously
remained popular, but you now have parents who grew up on it
and wanting to share that with [their] kids, and kids on
their own wanting it so just from a from a business point of
view, that's a big opportunity. From a creative point of
view - I mean, look, I've always worked in television, it's
my preferred medium. One of the benefits of it, from my point
of view, is spending more time with characters and story. And
so if you've got a book, let alone a series of books, to kind
of arbitrarily say, 'Well, we've got two hours' you have to
make some difficult decisions. So the idea is to have the
freedom to let it breathe a little bit more and explore the
    world a bit more."

Harry Potter Season 1 will premiere on HBO Max on Christmas
    2026.
