Aaron Kaplan seems to have been involved with both shows. Time to stop
making things he's involved with (not that either show was any good
    anyway).

'Watson' and 'DMV' Canceled at CBS
    ----------------------------------
CBS has canceled "Watson" and "DMV."

"Watson" premiered in January 2025 and will soon conclude
its second season. The drama series stars Morris Chestnut
as Dr. John Watson in a modern Sherlock Holmes story that
sees Watson, per the official description, "turn his
attention from solving crimes to solving medical mysteries.
While Watson's team of 'doc-tectives' may have defeated
Moriarty (Randall Park) last season, they remain determined
in Season 2 in their mission to investigate and treat the
world's most rare diseases for their clinic's patients.
With his eyes fixed on the future, Watson faces an
unexpected twist when Sherlock Holmes (Robert Carlyle), who
was presumed dead, resurfaces, forcing him to confront a
buried secret from his past - one that lies hidden within
    his own body.

Craig Sweeny created "Watson" and executive produced
alongside Chestnut, Larry Teng, Sharon Moalem, Aaron Kaplan
    and Brian Morewitz.

"DMV" is a workplace comedy set in the East Hollywood
Department of Motor Vehicles that premiered in October 2025
and will soon conclude its first season. Per the official
description, the series followed "Colette (Harriet Dyer), a
driving examiner with a big heart and bad boundaries; Gregg
(Tim Meadows), a misanthropic former English teacher; Vic
(Tony Cavalero), a former bouncer who loves putting
difficult drivers in their places; Barbara (Molly Kearney),
a newly promoted manager who tries hard but often misses the
mark; Noa (Alex Tarrant), a charming surfer who seems
destined for much greater things; and Ceci (Gigi Zumbado), a
scrappy photographer who isn't afraid to speak her mind."

The single-camera comedy was created by Dana Klein, who
serves as executive producer alongside Matt Kuhn, Aaron
Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Robyn Meisinger.

I tried both of them, and I thought both were watchable. Neither
succeeded in hooking me, though. Watson would have been better if it had forgotten the Holmes crap and just been the medical mystery drama it
    wanted to be.

It's inadequate as a medical mystery too. The lousy Sherlock Holmes
adaptation aside, the stories trip over themselves because of the
separate melodramas involving each of the supporting characters.

That's a problem common to many shows. Not every show should be a soap
    opera.
