• My 'No Kings' Experience

    From BTR1701@atropos@mac.com to rec.arts.tv on Mon Mar 30 01:14:27 2026
    From Newsgroup: rec.arts.tv

I saw that they were having yet another in their endless string of No Kings protests a mile or so from me in Torrance this weekend. I had nothing going
on, so I had the below image blown up into sign size and mounted it on a stick and just went out and stood quietly with it at the protest yesterday.

    https://ibb.co/RtjRY1J

It took approximately seven minutes for me to be physically attacked by the sensitive and tolerant Left and the sign stolen.

Anticipating something like this, I had the foresight to position myself near
a phalanx of cops who chased the two shitbags-- who were stupid enough to do this in front of them-- down and arrested them, then asked me if I wanted to press charges for agg-battery, to which I enthusiastically replied yes,
despite one of them literally crying and begging me not to because it would
put his scholarship in jeopardy. The consequences of your actions are arriving to say hi, you little shit. Enjoy the ride.

Apparently Jimmy Kimmel was there, too, along with a plethora of
national-level Dem pols like Maxine Waters and Chris Murphy. I don't know why they picked us down here out of the way in the South Bay to make their appearance rather than the main mob in downtown L.A.

Of course the downtown protests are usually the most violent. Maybe they're afraid of their own people and decided to attend the protest with (historically) the least amount of diversity and-- coincidentally, I'm sure-- the least amount of violence.

They picked the wrong guy to FA with and now they're gonna FO! Well
done!! Let us know how that turns out.

I'm pleasantly surprised to find out that your police actually arrested
the shit-bags that jumped you. If that had happened in Toronto, the cops
would have probably ignored the assault. (I've seen footage of a
pro-Hamas supporter threatening to kill a guy who was standing right
beside the cops and the police did nothing. They also brought coffee and doughnuts for pro-Hamas demonstrators that were blocking a major road in
    a Jewish neighbourhood.)

Whether you approve of that likely depends on their/your politics.

LAPD probably would have as well. But this is the South Bay where we don't put up with a lot of the degeneracy that goes on in L.A. Consequently, our cities don't like monstrous trash piles with zombified fentanyl addicts staggering around the streets and thugs robbing people and stealing everything that isn't bolted down.

Well, if that's the case, then attending the much smaller version of the protest rather than the main mob downtown doesn't make much sense, does it? You'd be seen by a lot more people downtown.

Apparently the 'progressive' Left had to change their branding for the
protests in Hawaii because past "No Kings" events offended the native
Hawaiians who very much *do* want to have a king, like they did before the
evol white man came along. So the Leftists went with "No Dictators" for their Hawaii iteration, despite the fact that a king, even a mostly benevolent one, is just one flavor of dictator, by definition.

(Along those lines, it was also amusing the last time around when the media showed shots from London of their participation in these protests, with leftists holding up "no kings" signs in England. Um... who wants to tell
    them?)

All of this leads us to the inevitable conclusion-- along with the below
screen shot from CNN in 2012-- that the 'progressive' Left doesn't really have a problem with kings at all. Indeed, in many instances, they'd be fully supportive of turning America into a dictatorial monarchy, just so long as they're the ones who get to choose the monarch.

'Memba when the Left wished Obama was a king? I 'memba!

(Along those lines, it was also amusing the last time around when the media showed shots from London of their participation in these protests, with leftists holding up "no kings" signs in England. Um... who wants to tell them?)

All of this leads us to the inevitable conclusion-- along with the below screen shot from CNN in 2012-- that the 'progressive' Left doesn't really have
a problem with kings at all. Indeed, in many instances, they'd be fully supportive of turning America into a dictatorial monarchy, just so long as they're the ones who get to choose the monarch.

No, the sign was a victim of left-wing violence.

A celebrity's job there was to be seen rather than to add manpower. Whether you approve of that likely depends on their/your politics.

Re Obama's (relative) carte blanche to wage conflicts, the difference isn't hypocrisy so much as his projection of general personal competence ...an asset even Trump's faithful would claim for him.

So you have no problem with Trump's policies, you just have
an opposition to the person named Trump because he looks bad
or talks funny? It's only the "image" that counts? That's
the media way of looking at politicians, like competing
brands of soap, judging only on their advertising campaigns.

That would explain a lot about so much political "debate"
or supposed polarization. How could anyone Debate An Image,
like debating a brand image of a car? The Image is above
individuals and above argument, what can people debate about
when Image is the Substance? The Brand Image is non-debatable,
as the policies behind the brand are not considered important.
This anti-intellectual method of politics is the result of the
extremely high repute given to the Advertising, Promotion,
Public Relations and Marketing Industries. Basically, the
entire media says Advertising Always Tells The Truth.
