A man is playing a piano in a public place and two young sisters
approach him to ask if he knows how to play the Vivaldi composition
Winter. He can and starts to play. The next thing you know, all three
are playing and delighting both the audience and themselves!

Oh, man. That trio is excellent. At the climax, when the whole terminal
starts clapping along, that is a rare moment. What a slice of joy.

Yeah. Though I can't believe it was actually impromptu, I loved it.

This one's my favorite. Not quite as spontaneous-- although just as surprising for the crowd-- but really cool.

Ahhh, back before we all decided that public performances were an
imposition and a public nuisance. Back when we were nice.

Well, I'm just going to say it: not all culture is equal.

There's a big difference between an ephemeral public performance of a
Beethoven classic and some guy pulling out his bluetooth speaker and blasting the latest gangsta rap opus into a public park, complete with all its references to bitches, ho counts, drug sales, grotesquely-sized penises, and the joys of murdering the police.

It would have been even cooler if instead of having the chorus come out with all the other instruments, they'd distributed them through the gathering
crowd, so suddenly people all around them start singing when the chorus makes its big entrance.

That's exactly the sort of thing people are now calling harassment,
though. I wasn't talking about blasting recorded music.

I think YouTube wannabes made such performances too common in the larger cities. I've seen Reddit comments along the lines of "These days on the
subway I hear 'It's show time' and I just cringe."

It turns out the pianist has a bunch of videos of him jamming with
random strangers. This one is particularly impressive with a young boy
playing violin at a level that should get him into a professional
    orchestra immediately:

Maybe not, but it's not impossible. When I lived in Boston, I passed
street performers all the time. If I'd been a musician and carrying an instrument, I could see asking to join in.

It depends on how often it happens. If he meets others once or twice a
year, sure, I'll believe it. If he represents it as happening once or
twice a week, I would join you in skepticism.

Now that I've seen several of his videos I think it's clear that all or

Well, that's a morning gone. youTube's continuation list goes on
through about half a dozen videos that I couldn't shut off. I stopped, reluctantly, before Morricone's ONCE UPON A TIME IN THE WEST...
