Iran is currently holding a massive funeral for the late Ayatollah who
was killed in the opening moments of the current war. During the course
of this funeral, which is now in its third day and counting, the regime
has announced that it has worked out an arrangement with Mexican drug
cartels to kill Trump.
The moment any cartel makes an attempt to kill a U.S. president is the moment that cartel is annihilated. Those guys don't comprehend that they only continue to exist because our politicians are soft and insist on diplomatic niceties like not encroaching on Mexico's sovereign territory. But the instant
a cartel actually attempts to assassinate a president, that "play nice" shit goes out the window and all bets are off.
I certainly don't want to give credence to this threat, which I why I
said Trump-haters shouldn't hold their breaths. The Iranians have proven
to be almost entirely delusional in their past threats, much like Saddam Hussein's "Mother of all battles" remark back in the day. The Iranians
largely live in a fantasy world. That's why they've had to import
thousands of foreigners from Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan etc. to build
crowds of mourners for the current funeral; if they depended on only
Iranian nationals, they'd find the "crowds" embarrassingly small.
But they do have some operatives outside of Iran and its not
inconceivable that they've had contacts with the cartels. Mind you, I'm
not sure what each might give the other in any quid pro quo. I know the cartels are powerful within Mexico and that they certainly have
tentacles in the USA but are any of the cartel bosses crazy enough to
try to take out Trump? I truly don't know. I would hope they were
rational enough to realize how catastrophic that would be for them but
who can say? I sort of hope the cartels try - AND FAIL!!! - just so that
they get the comeuppance they deserve.
