Leo Kearse delivers a very good rant about how the Left, which has been against borders for years now, suddenly thinks they're essential when it
    comes to Greenland:

Oh, I forgot... after your prime minister's speech at the World Economic
Forum, I must congratulate you and Goat in your country becoming a vassal
    state of China.

I hear Rosetta Stone is offering Canadians a discount on their Mandarin language courses so you all can quickly get up to speed with your new overlords.

Let me know what social credit score they assign you!

I can't speak for Goat but I am truly disgusted. There were already
strong concerns that Canada was too close to China under Trudeau - we
actually had Chinese troops on our soil for a military exercise and
there was a Parliamentary inquiry into Chinese interference with our
elections - but now we seem to really be getting into bed with them. Of
course Carney's apologists say we had no choice because Trump is being
so hostile and we have to trade with *someone*. Carney also got the
Qataris to put lots of new investment into Canada so the inevitable consequence of that will be that the Qataris do here what they do in
other countries: take over major institutions (like the London School of Economics) and fund lots of agitators on the streets to move policy in
their chosen direction. Remember: Qatar is where the top leadership of
    Hamas hangs out.

I think we are well and truly boned.

Don't look at me! I haven't voted Liberal since 1980. Unfortunately, too
many of my countrymen (and the cities we live in) are like most of your
blue states and cities. [In Canada, blue is the official colour of the Conservatives and red is the official colour of the Liberals.]

It actually makes more sense that way, red being the official color of communists worldwide.

In all fairness, I can remember when the Liberals were more centrist
than Left - left-leaning, sure, but not what they became under (Justin) Trudeau or even his father. Both Trudeaus pushed the party further left
than it had been. Now its at the point where way too many Canadians look
to the government as the primary agent to fix all problems. Any time
something is less than perfect, they seem to expect "the government" to
fix it. (That includes all levels of government: local, regional,
    provincial, and federal.)

I'm so sick of it. We have lost our way as a people. The proud
independent people who built the country have been replaced by highly dependent people who look to the nanny state for everything.
