The mainstream media took a long time to show any significant interest
in the massive protests in Iran and within a couple of days of them
finally reporting on it, they started declaring that it was all but over
and stopped watching. Meanwhile, the protests continue and the US
military, including the Abraham Lincoln (and presumably a fleet of its
support vessels) are finally close to Iran and getting ready to launch.
The only media still showing interest are Tousi TV and Canada's own
Goldie Ghamari. Tousi reports that Iranian embassies in various
countries are shredding papers in major volumes as if they are preparing
to leave, presumably because they know the current regime is about to go
down. I wonder where the staffs will go? If the regime does go down in
the next few days or weeks, the staff is going to want to be anywhere
BUT Iran for fear of having to stand trial for their crimes against
their country.
This situation really puts a spotlight on the media, who claim to
champion fights against oppressors, yet are virtually mute in the face
of a regime that has already killed THOUSANDS of people and arrested
many more with threats of executions. If we want to know what is
actually going on - as opposed to what the media elites want us thinking
about - we need to look to small startup news organizations like Tousi
TV and forget the likes of government media like BBC and CBC or big
private media like CTV, Global, ABC, NBC, CBS, etc.
Of course these small operations are going to be vulnerable to the big
players once the big players start to get worried. They'll simply buy up
the small outlets or give them so much money that they start parroting
the MSM line. Or they'll set up their own boutique media outlets that
LOOK like independents but are actually mouthpieces for the MSM. The MSM
is not going down without a fight. I just hope the small outlets have
the integrity to tell the truth regardless of the MSM's efforts so that
we get some semblance of the truth.
Tousi TV's anchor Mahjar Tousi hopes that Trump makes one last call to
the Iranian regime and urges them to make a deal to give them one last
chance to give up without more bloodshed, although doubts the Ayatollah
and his supporters will budge. He doesn't think the Iranian regime can
afford to make any concessions because to do so would make them seem
weak and they can't afford to do that. If so, in the words of Ted Cruz,
I hope all the supporters of the regime get a chance to enjoy the 72
virgins granted to martyrs in very short order.
I hope the regime makes a deal. I'd love to see the Ayatollah and his
chief minions get a fair trial then get convicted and executed. Then
Iran can remake itself as a secular society rather than a theocracy.
