    Yabutt...it' still just a Sloppy Joe by some other name;

    Maid Rite Ingredients

    1x
    2x
    3x
    ?1 cup warm water
    ?1 tablespoon dried minced onion
?1 teaspoon low sodium beef base, or a bouillon cube
?1 teaspoon low sodium chicken base, or a bouillon cube
?2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar
    ?2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
?1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
    ?2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
    ?3 pounds lean ground beef
    For Serving
    ?8 hamburger buns
    Optional Toppings
    ?cheese
    ?pickles
    ?diced onion
    ?ketchup

    Vs. traditional slopper:

    AI Overview
This is a classic, highly-rated homemade sloppy joe recipe that
is tangy, savory, and ready in about 30 minutes. Ingredients
1 lb ground beef (85% to 90% lean recommended)
    1 tbsp olive oil
    1/2 small onion, finely diced
1/2 small green bell pepper, finely diced
    2-3 cloves garlic, minced
    1/2 cup ketchup
8 oz (1 can) tomato sauce
    1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
    1-2 tsp yellow mustard
1-2 tbsp brown sugar (to taste)
Salt and black pepper to taste
    4-6 hamburger buns, toasted

Instead of tomater souse inside they put ketchup on top,
meh...fancy dog food is what that mess is...

Both of those are shitty. You call it dog food, but I wouldn't
feed that slop to my dog, and I don't even have a dog.

Public skrewl daze sez it beats fish sticks again...uggghh...

After my experiment, I'll take a good ol' Sloppy Joe any day. I
don't know what Bryan feeds his dog.

    Cats?

See above where I wrote, "I don't even have a dog."

She is all grown up. Her friend asked my wife and I if we wanted that sandwich of
which I had never heard of. We said "yes" and she made it for us. The woman is
from California so maybe that's what they eat over there. We're not going to >> judge.
A Maid Rite sandwich originated in the mid-west. Iowa or Wisconsin,
there is some debate. All it is is a loose meat sandwich. Ground beef
that has not been formed into a patty served on a bun. Condiments may vary.

sounds like a sloppy joe with out the sauce.

i could eat it but i prefer wet and not dry. put some gravy
or tomato sauce on it or even cream of mushroom soup (which we
consider gravy enough here at times - especially with added
mushrooms and a little bit of mushroom flavored soy sauce).

open faced with mashed potatoes and gravy would also be ok.

nothing i'd crow about as being super fine eats, but as i've
not heard of this before i'd not spent much time in Iowa or
Wisconsin (but not far from the northern part as i was in the
    Keweenaw Peninsula area of MI).

sometimes food is fuel and while it is great if it tastes
good and is well prepared that isn't always possible so you
eat what you get or make and then move on.
