I did something at dinner that would shock Miss Manners.

I had Pinot Grigio with dinner tonight. Instead of walking across the
room to the cabinet, I grabbed the red wine glass that was right in
front of me on the counter. I know, I was wrong, but did it anyway.
    Still tasted good.

I always drink red and white from the same glass. They're both liquids
and they have the same destination.

Nothing elaborate. Some chicken leftover and a salad.

The wine was the rest of a bottle opened a couple of days ago. I
    frequently drink wine with dinner.

Some years ago,1980s, a shop opened near us that sold Tyrone Crystal.
My wife really like it so every month we bought a piece of it. We
bought wine glasses, champagne flutes, as well as a couple of glasses
    for a whiskey, etc.

Originally, it as "for company" or special occasions, now, I'm sure she
would appreciate that I use them every day. Tyrone went out of business
    in 2010.

In a pinch, a pickle jar works too.

Yes, everything's better than straight from the bottle.

Choosing just the right booze is pretty difficult. I don't have that problem. I'm drinking some cream soda. It was just sitting in the fridge so I grabbed it.

    Very nice looking crystal :)

My mother had something similar, I don't know who made it. It was
bought in the 1950's. She had it stored in a sideboard that matches the dining room table. When they were packing to move here back in 1987,
she had packed the "good" china but had not yet packed the crystal
stemware. The movers picked up the sideboard without looking to see if
it was empty and smashed broke all the crystal. The moving company paid
them a decent sum for it but you can't really replace antique crystal.

Some things have value far beyond money. Would be nice if you had a
couple of pieces of it to use today.

I put sugar in my tea. You can keep sugar in anything waterproof and
scoop as needed. My sugar bowl is my grandmother's from the "good"
china that I have. I'd guess it is about 100 years
