Why should one use an old PGP program from third parties
no one knows and which is not signed by "their" certified
public keys, when not supporting ECC keys, people are using
and which (GnuPG 1.4.9) must be no longer been used, according
    to gnupg.org?

And why do you not suggest Kleopatra, or better yubicrypt or
seced, which are both leaving no traces?

I think the portability is cool!

gpg4usb is a lightweight Windows application built specifically for
helping you write text messages and protect the information by
    setting up passwords.

    The advantages of being portable...

Since this is a portable program, it is important to mention that it
doesn’t leave any traces in the Windows Registry.

You can copy it on any USB flash drive or other devices, and take it
with you whenever you need to encrypt your information with the aid
of public keys on the breeze, without having to go through
    installation steps.

Agreed, not for sensitive stuff and I certainly would
not use it to discuss with my friends about our next
    bank robbery! lol

Might be good for "newbies" to dip their toes in the
water and learn about PGP encrypting for themselves.
They could use it for non-sensitive stuff like love
letters, family get togethers, secret recipes etc.

Tell that the OmniMix looser in article: <20251207.153907.2a1ad639@msgid.frell.theremailer.net>
    and not me!

BTW. since this thread is about encryption. The majority
of PGP users have already long ago switched to age, for
example, because of it's ease of use or they switched to
yubicrypt or seced, due to their GUI support.

Nobody needs pgp4usb, from unknown people, without signing
their work, nor does it support modern algos or symmetric
encryption and most important outdated OpenPGP crap has
metadata in its file format, which is an absolutely no-go
when it comes to anonymous communications.

And BTW #2, what does this crap OP has to do with rec.food.cooking
and misc.phone.mobile.iphone, because no one needs a *cooking*
recipe for this old PGP crap nor can iPhone users use the old
    PGP crap.

It must be good as it's the go to encryption for the dark net.

    What is Gpg4usb?

gpg4usb is an open-source encryption software based on GnuPG
that allows users to encrypt, decrypt, sign and verify files,
messages, emails etc. It integrates encryption capabilities
    with portable USB drives.

OmniMix is an excellent museum piece that shows today's youth how their
fathers and grandfathers communicated anonymously in the past and should therefore definitely be preserved for educational purposes.

However, the days of Type II remailing with Tor are long gone, as it can
be proven beyond doubt with autonomous, sophisticated AI monitoring who uploaded fixed-sized payloads to the Tor network at what exact time and
where, and who the recipients of the messages are. As a result, mature
men and women no longer use this Type II technology and have switched to decentralized Onion Courier Mixnets, which they set up and operate themselves.
